Meet Our Founders

Joydeep Guha (Founder & CEO)

Joydeep Guha was the Head Tata International West Asia DMCC, Dubai. He was responsible for the P&L for Middle East, Africa and the Indian Subcontinent business engaged in Metals and Minerals with focus on Trading of various Steel Products. He along with his team was managing a business of appox USD 550 Million and trading appox 750,000mt of various steel products. He in-depth knowledge of International Trading and relationship with key partners has helped Tata International grow the business in the region of influence. He is based out of UAE since 2010. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of this entity. Joydeep was the Vice President – Steel & Minerals Trading in Noble Resources Limited headquartered in Hongkong before joining Tata International Ltd.  He was heading the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East business based out of India and UAE. He started the Steel vertical in the Indian subcontinent and made it to a USD 130 Million business. During this period he was also exposed to Minerals and Ferro Alloy business.

Prior to Noble Group, Joydeep worked for more than 7 years in the International Trading Division of Tata Steel, India focusing on Steel trading and subsequently Heading the Cold Rolled and Galvanised Exports of Tata Steel.  He was also looking at the Steel Branding Initiative of Tata Steel in the international markets and launching it successfully it in Srilanka and Nepal.

With Steel Industry knowledge and association for more than 25 years and the constant changes in the business environment, Joydeep understands the importance of Organizational Growth through Agility while giving importance to Process, Cost and Risk specially in a Trading environment.

Joydeep is a member of the India Business Promotion Council (IBPC) and is actively involved with an NGO in India called Sukhtara for Specially Abled Orphans.

Anand Juvekar (Co-Founder)

Anand Juvekar has been in the Steel Industry for the last 24 years and was the Head – Southern & Eastern Africa for Tata International West Asia DMCC, Dubai since 2010. He has been successful not only in maintaining the existing business but also made substantial contribution by developing Steel sourcing out of South Africa and looking at Prefinancing mills for regular allocation and market canalization. He also developed and managed more than 100 regular customers in the region. Prior to Tata International Anand was with Cumic Steel, China for 6 years and developed their presence in Middle East and African markets and was Heading office in UAE. He implemented various Brand building initiatives and was doing business of ~USD 100mio/annum. For 10 years Anand was also working with MIT Fze primarily to develop their sales to Iran (before international sanctions). He was also responsible for opening their office in China

Anand has spend over 5 years in Steel manufacturing when he was working with Essar Steel, India and Mittal Steel Romania. This has given Anand a lot of exposure on Steel making and the required Technical inputs to develop sales of new and Niche products.

Anand lays a lot of importance on maintaining and strengthening relationship with all stakeholders in business and his technical knowledge will give the team a lot of confidence in developing new business and value added initiatives.

Anand enjoys regular fitness regime including his Badminton practice.

 

Hari Menon (Co-Founder)

Hari Menon was the Head Steel Trading – Middle Eastern Markets for Tata International West Asia DMCC, Dubai since 2020. He has been very successful in making major inroads into the markets like Saudi Arabia and UAE. Hari has also developed sourcing of Steel products from the region for other global markets like Americas, Europe and Africa. He has supported the organizations entry into the Oil & Gas Segment. Hari has been handling business of ~USD 150 million/annum. Prior to Tata International Anand was Trading for Hanwa Middle East and SNP Middle East for over 10 years and developed their presence in Middle East markets. Hari was actively involved in developing Hot Rolled Plates and Coils into various segments in the region. This initiative required him to get specific mills approved by various Project Consultants in the region. For 5 years prior to his Trading experience Hari has worked for Arcelor Mittal International and also for HG Enterprises where he was exposed to selling their own mill products in this region. He was also exposed to Operations and mapping of Organizational Process Mapping

Hari with his ~ 20 years experience has immense knowledge of the Middle East region and also has the ability to source steel from multiple regions. His additional exposure of Process Mapping will immensely help the team to mitigate Risks and optimize costs.

Hari loves to travel and very active in regularly playing Badminton.
